Background[]
The man that would later go by the name 'Lou Jennings' was once lead a content, if uneventful life. A native of Kiva, his life and family were typical for the world. Jennings was a young architect, married to a lovely artist of mild renown and a newborn daughter. He had no more distrust of the Empire than the average citizen, acknowledging that while they might do some questionable things, they were all done to make Imperial citizens safe.
In fact, Jennings even took on several jobs for the Empire which took him off planet to to supervise construction of government buildings and other projects. He was away on one such job when the Empire initiated it's "Project Starscream" which wiped out all life on Kiva. Including Jennings wife and daughter. The Empire denied all knowledge of the event and Jennings was left to wallow in grief until finally a Kivan archivist on Imperial Center, leaked the knowledge of the Project to other Kivans left alone and homeless across the Galaxy.
Revenge weighed heavily on his mind but didn't have the faintest clue how to contact the Rebel Alliance. So, he fell back on what he could do. Jennings began improvising explosives and used his knowledge of Imperial building design to wage a one-man war against the government that murdered his family. Unfortunately for him, it didn't take the Empire long to catch on and he was tracked down and arrested red-handed on his way to his next target.
His stint in prison was interrupted by a Rebel jail-break, lead by none other than Owen Windrose. Afterwards, he decided to stick with the Rebellion, took on the name "Lou Jennings" and was partnered with Owen. The two men's reasons for joining the Rebellion were very different with Owen joining out of idealism and Jennings joining for a shot at revenge.
Lou's situation allows him to make the tough calls with ruthless efficiency. He is less concerned with upholding the ideals of the Republic and more concerned with taking down the Imperial Remnant. His hardcore anti-Imperials beliefs have earned him a reputation for being merciless in his assignments. It's rumored within the NRIS that Jennings serves as Windrose's wetwork man for sort of missions that go against the Republic's normal policy, nothing has been confirmed and Jennings has never addressed these rumors.
