Biography[]
Early Life[]
Myla Darsst was born to Robert "Bobby" and Amelia Darsst on Corellia in the year 3ABY. Unfortunately no more than two hours after the birth of her daughter, Amelia died from a heart failure, leaving Bobby to take care of his only child alone. Bobby was a professional musician, playing with many famous orchestra's and bands during his lifetime. With the passing of his wife however, he had to cut back on his performances to take care of Myla. A half a year after her death, Amelia's sister, Terri Moore stepped up to help Bobby take care of Myla so that he could go back to work and provide for his broken family. She had been harboring a secret love for Bobby since before her elder sister married the musician. Seeing her sister's death as an opportunity, she jumped into the motherly role left by Amelia and began caring for Myla, treating her as if she was her own daughter during the first few years.
When Myla was five, Bobby noticed that she had a natural born talent in music and soon began teaching her how to read and write musical notation, and to play the instument he had become famous playing. She preformed at her own recitals and had even been known to play alongside her father on several occasions. All during this time Terry acted as a proud mother and Bobby grew to love Terri as more than a sister-in-law. And soon after Myla's sixth birthday, Bobby and Terri announced their engagement and were married half a year later. Myla adjusted to the change quickly since Terri had already been a big part of her life before then it was years later, as she began to mature, that the relationship between Myla and her step-mother began to change.
Changes[]
By the time she was ten years old, Myla's physical features began to resemble her birth mother's almost exactly. Bobby took notice to this and as a result it strengthened their bond even more and Bobby soon became the source of Myla's inspiration. He began teaching her more about the world of music and how to 'see' the notes around her. She learned how to play many instruments, though her favorite was the violin that Bobby first taught her to play.
However, Teresa also took notice and it pained her to see the face of her sister everywhere, attempting to make her feel guilty for what she did. The mother-daughter relationship that shared began to crumble almost immediately. In front of Bobby, their interaction with each other was civil and polite, but once the he left the room, claws would come out. They began to fight often and Terri would bring her neice down, making Myla's fragile pre-teen self-esteem drop. But with her love for music and performance, Myla was always able to keep a smile on her face and keep a positive attitude.
Bobby's Death[]
Just before Myla turned thirteen, Bobby got a serious infection in his resepetory system. His musical career came to a sudden halt, though he was able to still live vicariously through his daughter. After a year of fighting the infection, he was beginning to get better. His treatments were going well and everyone was happy to see him getting better. Unfortunately an unexpected reaction to a slight change in his medication caused Bobby's heart to fail, and his premature death four days before Myla's fourteenth birthday. As if he had known about his own death, Bobby had given Myla his favorite violin as an early birthday present. His death was unexpected for everyone and it especially devestated Myla as he was her musical inspiration and mentor. As a result of Bobby's death, Myla stopped playing and writing music, not sure of how to continue on without her father to help her.
Hard Times[]
With no other family to care for Myla, Terri kept custody of the the fourteen year old girl. Terri took Bobby's death horribly, diving deep into alcoholism. By this point, Myla's appereance resembled Amelia's completely with minor alterations such as her green eyes which came from her father. Terri began lashing out at the girl more and her insults became worse. Without her father and her music to help her, Myla started taking her aunts insults personally and they began tearing her down mentally. In an effort to escape the torment, the young woman dove into her school work and began working to get herself away from her aunt. She graduated from grade school a year and a half earlier than expected and was quickly accepted into the University of Coronet's medical program where she chose to major in Biomedical Engineering. During this time, Bobby's best friend during his adult life, Killian Quane, kept in contact with Myla, keeping her hoping that she would make it out of these tough times in tact.
Present Day[]
Around 16 ABY, Killian returned to Corellia and met with Myla unbeknowest to Terri. During their meeting, Killian suggested that Myla seek the Jedi as a way to escape the torment of home and to reconnect with her true self. The musical prodigy who was buried with her father. And that is where Myla's story starts.
