J't'p'tan and Windsong[]

Avania Seravati was born on the planet J't'p'tan, an almost untouched core world that drifted amongst the Koornacht Cluster. She grew up as a practitioner and worshiper of the 'White Current', the Fallanassi term for what was at one point discovered to be the 'Force'. Despite the notable precepts her tribe shared with the illusion-masters of the Fallanassi, the women of her tribe were not synonymous with the Adepts of the White Current. Rather, it was common practice to induct men into their order, they shared religious edicts with the H'kig that founded their village, and they acted selflessly; rather than with only themselves in mind, as the other surrounding tribeswomen did. The village she was raised in, named simply 'Tan' after the fourth sacred glyph of the H'kig teachings, was known throughout the area for their healers and it was not uncommon that offworlders should come because of them. Her own mother, Dulcia Seravati, was rumored to be one of the greatest healers of the ages. Even with this knowledge in mind, Avania displayed only average healing abilities. However, she possessed other talents; capabilities that had her tribeswomen whispering.

Su'aco Linath [Windsong]

She could move things without the use of physical touch. Telekinesis. An ability that hadn't been displayed by her own tribeswomen and her Fallanassi ancestors for hundreds of years. Once more, the Seravati name was revered. Her talents were used to better the village and the few H'kig priests that remained behind watched over her closely. It was clear to them that even with the capacity to cause great suffering and horror for her people, Avania only had the mind to help those in need. Along with their utmost respect, she was awarded the H'kig heirloom named "Su'aco Linath". Or, Windsong in more common language. The phrik staff had been her mother's before she had passed on. Avania accepted the pearl-mounted legacy graciously and vowed that it would only be used aggressively in times of great need. By the time she turned nineteen, she had grown much closer to the H'kig that dwelt within her village. It was they who proclaimed that her time had come to undertake a pilgrimage; one that would test her resolve and see that she demonstrated selflessness beyond the boundaries of her village. Leaving behind all she knew with only the Windsong at her side, she sought out the fabled Jedi on a distant, icy world.

Rafe Artheas and Yavin VIII[]

Shortly after the event of her pilgrimage had been foretold, a merchant happened to land upon their planet. He was well known to the women of her village, as he often brought them supplies and news from worlds beyond. He held no qualms about taking her with him as far as the nearest space station. Bidding her sisters and the H'kig priests farewell, she readily boarded his starship and set out to find the Jedi. Many hours passed and she spent them brushing up on her Galactic Basic, which was rusty at best. The merchant told her that she'd probably be able to catch a ship going by Yavin VIII with no problem. Still, Avania knew that even though this man was being kind by transporting her to a station; others would be expecting some form of payment.

By luck, Avania bumped into a man named Rafe Artheas shortly after docking at the station. While she barely managed to say two words to him without having to look in her translation booklet, he agreed to help her out. He displayed the kind of selflessness and honor expected of her own people. Friendship. She learned the true meaning of the word in such short time. The time she spent with this man was brief but cherished. As they reached Yavin VIII and said their goodbyes, the young woman did not fret for she knew that she'd be seeing him again. The White Current had whispered his name to her. The Force was inexplicably flowing through and around him, whether he chose to acknowledge it now or later. Still, one with such fine and giving qualities such as himself would inevitably end up under the tutelage of the Jedi. Yes, she would see him again. For now, Avania drove onward through her own pilgrimage. The Great Hall of the Jedi Temple beckoned her. Sitting within, shrouded in mystery, was the one person she had come to find. The White Current stirred and she knew she had stumbled upon her mentor. Gythe Ming.
